Police called to break-and-enter in progress

A 24-year-old was arrested and charged with break-and-enter and drunk driving offences

On Feb. 24, 2024, at 3:18 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break-and-enter in progress on the 12th Concession B in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The OPP attended and located an individual inside a workshop. The individual told police that he drove there. Police located the individual's vehicle on the roadway. While officers were speaking to the individual, the individual was displaying signs of impairment.

A 24-year-old from Grey Highlands was charged with:

  • Trespass at night
  • Break, enter a place - with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on March 21, 2024.

The OPP reminds everyone to report suspicious incidents to the police.

Drivers are reminded that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving.
