Police ask for video footage in Owen Sound homicide investigation

Owen Sound Police Services and Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police are asking the public for video surveillance footage in their ongoing investigation of an Owen Sound homicide.

Just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, gunshots were heard at an apartment complex on 6th Avenue West.

When officers arrived they found the body of a victim. Investigators believe it was a targeted shooting.

An Owen Sound resident was arrested the next day and has been charged with first-degree murder.

Police are now asking people to check for video surveillance footage between 11 p.m. Monday, July 10 and 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 11 in the following identified areas in Owen Sound:

  • Area between Alpha Street to 1st Ave West, between 10th Street West and 14th Street West.
  • Area between 2nd Ave West to 8th Ave West, between 26th Street West and 29th Street West.
  • Area between 2nd Ave East to 4th Ave East, between 17th Street East and 18th Street East.
