Police arrest Stayner man in 'ongoing drug investigation'

A 21-year-old faces drugs and firearm possession charges

A Stayner man was arrested and now faces drugs and firearm charges after area police used a search warrant and discovered what they say is evidence of criminal offences. 

The Huronia West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment, with support from the OPP community street crime unit and Collingwood and Southern Georgian Bay detachments executed the warrant in Stayner. 

As a result, police arrested and charged a 21-year-old man on April 14 with possession of a schedule one substance for the purposes of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a prohibited firearm with ammo. 

The accused will face the charges in court. Police kept the man in custody pending a bail hearing.
