Police activity near Collingwood trail part of search for missing person

The 38-year-old man was located safe, police reported this morning

Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have confirmed a local man reported missing yesterday has now been located and he is safe. 

There was a significant police presence in the area of Elm Street near the recreation trail in the area, which OPP said was because of the ongoing search for the man. 

Collingwood/TBM OPP Const. Martin Hachey said the search involved frontline officers from the local detachment, an OPP helicopter, the underwater search and recovery unit, OPP canine unit and emergency response team members. 

The 38-year-old Collingwood resident was found this morning, police confirmed the search was over at 8:13 a.m. via their social media channels.
