Motorcyclist dies in Chatsworth collision

Oct. 17 update:

On Oct. 11, 2022,  just after 7:15 p.m., The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police responded to the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Highway 6 in the Township of Chatsworth.

Life saving efforts were performed, but the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased. They have been identified as Steven Rill, 32, from the Township of West Grey.

The Grey Bruce OPP is continuing to investigate this collision with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team. 

Oct. 11 release:

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police are on scene of a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle on Highway 6.

On Oct. 11, 2022, just after 7:15 p.m., The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police, Grey County Paramedic Services (PS) and the Chatsworth Fire Department responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle on Highway 6 in the Township of Chatsworth.

Life saving efforts were performed, but the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene. Their identity is being withheld pending a next of kin notification.

The Grey Bruce OPP is continuing to investigate this collision with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team (TIME). Highway 6 will remain closed between Grey Road 40 and Walker Sideroad while emergency crews process the scene.
