Man uses fake ID to withdraw $25,000

WASAGA BEACH - Members of the Huronia West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint on Aug. 7, 2018, to investigate an alleged fraud incident in Wasaga Beach. Police investigation revealed that a male suspect used fraudulent identification in the victim's name to withdraw money from bank accounts exceeding $25,000. 

Still shots were obtained of the suspect from security cameras at a local bank.

The Huronia West OPP are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the male suspect. 

Anyone who may have information about this male suspect or the incident is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can submit your information online at www.p3tips.com. Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display and you will remain anonymous. Being anonymous, you will not testify in court and your information may lead to a cash reward of up to $2,000.00.
