A Grey Highlands man in his 20s is now facing several charges after police say he fled from an officer who was attempting to pull the man over.

Grey Bruce OPP reported in a news release that an officer on patrol attempted to stop a vehicle on July 14 around 5:30 p.m. but the driver fled the scene.

Police located the vehicle and driver at a business soon after and arrested the driver.

Denver Ward, 24, of Grey Highlands was charged with several offences related to flight from a peace officer, taking a vehicle without consent, having cannabis available and open liquor in the vehicle, careless driving, driving without a licence, having a blood alcohol content over zero while being a novice driver, and possession of unmarked cigarettes.

None of the charges have been proven in court. Ward is to face the charges in the Owen Sound courthouse later.
