SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP - On Dec. 3, 2018 at approximately 1:53 p.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were conducting a R.I.D.E. Check in the area of Snow Valley Road.
Police observed a vehicle travelling eastbound, quickly stop, turn around and proceed westbound on Snow Valley Road. Police stopped the vehicle on Heron Boulevard and quickly determined that the driver was operating it while under the influence of alcohol.
Sixty-six-year-old Gerald Gibbons of Springwater was charged with:
- CC 253(1)(a) adult driving while ability impaired - motor vehicle (alcohol)
- CC 253(1)(b) adult driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in blood
He is to appear in Collingwood Court on Jan. 8, 2019.
