Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in connection to an impaired driving investigation in The Blue Mountains.

On April 13, the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver near Blue Mountain Resort. When officers arrived they located the vehicle. The driver was arrested and taken back to the detachment for further tests, which determined he was over four times the legal limit.

As a result, Warren Pearce, 49, of The Blue Mountains, has been charged with operation while impaired (alcohol) and operation while impaired (over 80).

The accused has been issued a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on April 28.

If you suspect someone of driving while impaired, call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or dial 911 to report it.
