Arrest made in vandalism of Wasaga Beach Pride crosswalk

A 35-year-old Wasaga Beach man is facing a mishief charge as a result of the police investigation

The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest in an ongoing investigation involving damage to a Pride crosswalk within Wasaga Beach.

On July, 20, 2021 police began an investigation into a mischief which had occurred at the inaugural crosswalk at Mosley and 39th Street. With the assistance of the public and media outlets, a 35-year-old man from Wasaga Beach has been charged with the following:

  • Mischief under $5,000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Sept. 14, 2021.
