LONDON, Ont. — Police in London, Ont., say a teenage girl has been arrested after a stabbing at a local high school.

Police say emergency crews responded Monday around 11:30 a.m. after a report of a stabbing at H.B Beal Secondary School.

They say a suspect was arrested and a female victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police did not release the ages of either the victim or the suspect or say whether they were students at the school.

The Thames Valley District School Board did not offer details about the stabbing, citing the police investigation, but say members of its traumatic events response team are available to support students "in processing the impact of this event."

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
