Police charge photographer in alleged sexual assaults at Newmarket school

NEWMARKET, Ont. — Police have charged a photographer after investigating complaints from students about alleged sexual assaults at their Newmarket, Ont., school.

York Regional Police say they began an investigation into the 30-year-old Barrie, Ont., man in September after a student came forward to report an alleged sexual assault.

Police say the alleged assault took place in mid-September, when she was getting her school picture taken at school.

Investigators say a second student from the same school came forward during their investigation and reported an alleged sexual assault by the same suspect.

Police say the man has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, a count of sexual interference with a person under 16 and a count of sexual exploitation.

Investigators are asking any other complainants to come forward.
