September 7, 1955 – September 13, 2023

Paul James Young died peacefully surrounded by music and love at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

Son of Randall & Remalda Young. Cherished brother of Malcolm (Mary-lise), George (Colleen), April (Bryan) and Martha. Proud father of Alyssa (Jim), Laurel (Andrew), Josiah, Kaytlyn (Josh) and Eli. Grandpa of Corbin, Kendall, Ebony, Knox, Elspeth and Cameron. Paul will be remembered by his uncles & aunts, nieces & nephews, his community, his music family & his friends.

Paul moved to Collingwood from Toronto in the fall of 1969. He attended Collingwood Collegiate Institute where he took the band program and never looked back. A great musical talent in both trumpet and piano, Paul's life was always surrounded by music.

As a professional musician and event producer, Paul founded and produced Musicians Christmas over the past 10 years, in support of local charities, including Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. Paul had a recent focus on sound/energy healing through intuitive electronic keyboard music, although he could still on occasion be seen guesting with local musicians in various venues.

Working at Kalola Spa, Paul received in depth training over the course of several years in Reiki achieving Master Practitioner Level. Paul had tremendous understanding for the effect of stress on the health and wellbeing of the physical, energetic and spiritual wellbeing of all. When asked his goal in practice, Paul said, I want to help people to feel better after being with me. And that he did.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of light and positivity, a hope for us all to live freely and to embrace and let love in. He will be cherished and honoured for the rest of time. He loved each and every one of his people fiercely and unconditionally.

Visitation will be held at Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood on Sunday September 24th from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle, Campbell House. https://hospicegeorgiantriangle.com/donate/. To leave a message of condolence or to share a memory of Paul, please visit www.chattersonfuneralhome.com
