After a difficult and courageous battle with Cancer passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday November 30, 2018 at the age of 63 years.

Laurie, will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 41 years and his best friend Darlene and his sons Josh (Nicole) and Chad (Stefanie). He will be cherished by his grandchildren Bree, Bryson, Jacob and baby Weir on the way. Laurie was born in Collingwood to parents Russell and Isobel Weir, he will be deeply missed by his brothers Jim (Carol), Bill (Lorraine) and sisters Sandy (Norman), Rhea and Kelly (Ken) and his many nieces and nephews; predeceased by his sister Lorraine.

Laurie lived his life to the fullest, he made people laugh, he cared and helped others and he was a great friend; known to many as The Beer guy then caretaker of the Presbyterian cemetery. He was also retired and one of the original volunteer firefighters in Nottawa Station 6. An avid curler baseball player and golfer.

 A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on Tuesday December 11, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. with remembrances at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House, Collingwood General & Marine Hospital or RVH Cancer Center would be appreciated by the family.
