Margaret was born Margaretha Adriana Borst in Obdam, The Netherlands where she later met and married Johannes (John/Jan) Josephus Weel on April 29, 1959. Together, with their first daughter, Marisca, Margaret and John made the move to Canada.

As the years continued on, they became a family of 10 on the farm in Stayner where they grew and harvested cabbage and potatoes. It was a busy life on the farm with 8 children, but Margaret still managed to keep a happy home with tummies full, particularly with her delicious soups that we all enjoyed to this day. Margaret loved to knit and the many beautiful socks she gave us at Christmas will be treasured always.
