VOKEY, Ruth Ann (nee Barrington)

Of Collingwood, passed away at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on Monday October 3, 2022 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Vokey. Dear sister of the late Donald (Yvette) Barrington, Helen (Andy) deRoos and William (Ann) Barrington. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews Cynthia Smit (Chuck), Daryl Barrington, Ken Jensen, Andrew (Michelle) deRoos, Darren (Kim) deRoos, Ronald Shell, Matthew Barrington and Tammy Barrington. Also missed by her great nieces and nephews Dylan deRoos, Colton deRoos, Sydney deRoos, Carey, Kevin, Brooke, Anita and Christina. Ruth will also be remembered by her extended family Keith Vokey, Valerie (Patrick), Karen, Sandra, Derek Vokey, cousins, neighbors and friends. Ruth will also be missed by her friend Diane & Keith Hawton and family. Predeceased by her parents Sydney and Agnes (nee Gardner) Barrington, her husband Ron Vokey and brother Donald Barrington. After retirement as a cook, Ruth loved to prepare meals and cook for others. She loved her animals and is greatly missed by her 16-year-old feline companion. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Chatterson Funeral Home, Collingwood. A private family celebration has been held. Remembrances of Ruth may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
