Johanna Gerritdina (Anne) Van Boxmeer

Passed away peacefully with dignity and grace at Campbell House Hospice Collingwood on February 13, 2023, in her 91st year. Anne was the devoted wife of Ted, the love and joy of her life for 67 years. She was the heart and soul of her family and the loving mother of 8 children, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Anne was born in Dalfsen, Holland in 1932 and immigrated to Canada in 1951. She was a faithful and devout Catholic and an active member of the Catholic Women’s League for over 67 years. Anne was well known in her community for her giving heart and as a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Parish for 56 years. She gave freely of herself throughout her lifetime as a volunteer, ministering to the sick, delivering meals on wheels and helping those in need within her community. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family.

She is loved and profoundly missed by her children Mary Steer (Duncan), Annette Manson (Bill), Shirley Houghton (Ed), Michael Van Boxmeer (Trish), Peter Van Boxmeer (Shelley), Patricia Van Boxmeer (Jean) and Lisa Belanger. Also mourning her loss are grandchildren: Jason, Mark, Sarah, Stacey, Bradley, Gregory, Kelley, Sean and Natasha, great grandchildren: Jacob, Alison, Emily, Lucas and Hailey, brother Tony Vander Vechte (Marg) and sister Toos Melenhorst (Ben).
She is predeceased by her son Paul Van Boxmeer, parents Antonius & Antonia Van der Vechte, brothers Dick Van der Vechte (Eleanor), John Van der Vechte (Islay), Rinus Vander Vechte (Glenna), and sister Diny Nederend (John).

Anne lived a remarkable life over her 90 years and leaves a legacy of beautiful memories that she greatly enjoyed recalling to the very end. She was a blessing to all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
