Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, Shirley Tirebuck’s legacy continues as her spirit moves on to the next step of her journey. Shirley passed away at midnight on September 6th with her husband of 37 years by her side after a two-year valiant battle with cancer.

Shirley, a native of North London, United Kingdom, was a Mensa who enjoyed daily newspaper puzzles, gardening, feeding and watching the birds at her numerous feeders, playing golf and watching sports on the tele – baseball was her particular favourite – as well as spending time with her three grandchildren. She took great pride in her home and especially loved putting up her extensive holiday decorations at Christmas and Halloween. She was a distinguished member and past treasurer of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 516 (New Lowell).

Shirley is survived by her husband Gordon, her daughter Julia and son-in-law Stephane (London, Ontario) and her three grandchildren Emma, Matthew and Taea, her brother Brian (UK), and numerous nieces and nephews (UK) as well as her stepchildren David (California) and his son and daughter, and Jennifer (Ancaster) and her three daughters. She is predeceased by her mother (Anne), father (Thomas) and 9 siblings: Marie, Laurie, Olive, Joan, Joyce, Doreen, Derek, Sylvia and Susan, all of the United Kingdom.

A service of remembrance will be held at Fawcett Funeral Home - Collingwood Chapel on Thursday September 14, 2023 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle (Campbell House) in Collingwood, Ontario.
