Kathleen Rose (nee Donnelly) Taylor, formerly of Belleville, ON, passed away peacefully with her daughter, Sherry, by her side at Grey Bruce Health Services in Meaford on Monday, July 11th, 2022, at the age of 95.

She was the beloved wife of the late Stuart Taylor for 67 years.  Kay is survived by her daughter, Sherry Taylor-Fox, son-in-law Doug Fox, grandsons Taylor Fox (Janice) and Liam Fox (Tiela), her cocker spaniel Chelsea, grand-dog Olive, and many adoring nieces and nephews.  Kay was predeceased by her parents, John and Jessie (nee Harris) Donnelly, and by siblings Thomas, Marie, James, William, John and Jessie.

Born in Toronto, ON, Kay graduated from York Memorial Collegiate, whereupon she began a career in insurance.  Married to Stu in 1951, she accompanied Stu to his many postings in the Canadian Armed Forces.  Their final posting brought them to Belleville ON, where they decided to remain once both retired.  Kay was very active in her community, and was a long-time member of the Eastern Star masonic organization and Eastminster United Church.   Kay was admired and respected by many for her cheerful, positive disposition, kindness, sense of humour, and compassion.  Most who knew her would agree that she filled any room which she entered with joy. Without a doubt, family was always Kay’s greatest priority, and she celebrated with pride and delight that she lived to be able to watch grandsons Taylor and Liam grow to adulthood and find their life partners.

In 2016, Kay and Stu moved to Waterside Retirement Home in Wasaga Beach to be closer to Sherry and Doug.  Since 2018, Kay had resided at Errinnrung Retirement Residence in Thornbury, where she was loved by staff and residents alike.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staffs at Waterside and Erinnrung, as well as the nursing staff and doctors at Grey Bruce Health Services Meaford for the exceptional care which Kay received.

A celebration of Kay’s life will take place at Clearview Community Church in Nottawa, ON on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2 o’clock.
