Stewart

We are heartbroken to announce our dear sweet Mother passed away peacefully at Campbell House Hospice on Friday, November 19, 2021. She leaves our world to be reunited with her parents Russell and Lila Day, her husband Ray Stewart (2005) and son Bob Stewart (1987). She will be sadly missed by her daughters Sharon Stewart (Marc), Donna Merrifield (Tom) and daughter in law Nancy Stilwell. She was a loving Grandmother of Mike Merrifield, Lauren Weber (Taylor) and Patrick Merrifield and a dear Great Grandmother of Finn and Sam Weber.

Mom loved her Collingwood community.  She had the unwavering ability to work hard and take care of everyone else at the same time. She was a long time, faithful member of the Trinity United Church and the United Church Women's unit. She was a member of the Salaam Ladies Shrine and was proud of her 70-year membership with the Order of the Eastern Star.  She thoroughly enjoyed volunteering with these organizations and the friendships she made. During early retirement Mom wintered in Florida developing lifelong friendships with many Ontario families.  She continued to enjoy regular dates in Collingwood for cards and lunch. She loved community news, long phone conversations, new muffin recipes, craft projects, condo coffee breaks and potluck dinners, and making the best tea biscuits for her Grandsons.

Her last few months were spent at Bay Haven Care Community where she enjoyed new friendships andcompassionate care. A highlight of the many activities she participated in was the Halloween party dressed as the Queen of Hearts. She is OUR Queen of Hearts!

Of all the roles Mom had, her most cherished role was being a Grandma and Great Grandma. She was so proud of her Grandchildren and had a very special relationship with each one. Mom was warm hearted, kind, thoughtful and good natured. She was a friend to everyone, and her spirit will be carried on by those lives she touched.

We are very grateful for the care and support given to Mom and would like to thank Dr. Catherine Moran, the Doctors and Staff at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, Bay Haven Care Community Retirement Living, LHIN (Home and Community Care Support) and Campbell House Hospice.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a private service for the immediate family to take place at a later date. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital Foundation or Hospice Georgian Triangle.
