We are saddened to share the news of Phil Stevenson’s passing on September 13th in Collingwood, ON.

He was a dear friend to many and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Eldest son of Dorothy and Steve, Phil was born in Wilmington, Delaware in 1942 and moved to Toronto as a young boy. A graduate of Lawrence Park Collegiate and proud alumni of the University of New Brunswick, Phil particularly loved socializing along with his academics.

He enjoyed many years of skiing at Devil’s Glen and golfing at Mad River. He put decades of experience as a marketing director to great use when he co-founded The Creemore Echo. Phil’s love language was laughter, he was always generous with his laughs and an enthusiastic DJ at all parties. He cherished his family, first and foremost his wife of 54 years, Jill Mingay Stevenson, his daughters Sandy (Alastair), Trish (Stephane), and his four grandchildren, Zayley, Lolly, Ben, and Sam.

An intimate family gathering will take place later in the fall to remember Phil. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital in Phil’s name.  (Ways to Give | Collingwood General Hospital Foundation (cgmhf.com).
