Passed away peacefully at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital on Sunday March 24, 2024, at the age of 72.

Jane was the beloved mother of Sarah Sheppard (Bryan Morgan) and the late Jeff Sheppard.  She was the proud Nana of Robert Brown (Kristen Etkins), Austin Sheppard (Maddy Schmidt), Wyatt Sheppard (Dawn Smith), Rebecca Brown (Danny Foster), Jesse Sheppard, Kailee Morgan, Jeff Brown and Brendan Morgan and the cherished great grandmother of Nicole, Hazel, Hailee, and the late Riley.

She was the dear sister of Connie Spencer (Dave) and Cheryl Hendy (Mike) and the late Herb Breese and sister-in-law of Pat Breese. She will be remembered by her forever friends “Big Sara” Sara Black and Lorraine Gerbase.

During her life Jane worked and was a well-respected PSW as well as being the most supportive and loving mother to her children. There are no words that truly encompass the type of mom she was. She lived to help others; she was kind, compassionate and selfless.  She dedicated her life to helping others and lived every day with a positive attitude and appreciation.  The impact she had on people is everlasting.

Jane also loved animals, especially her beloved Sophia, Missy, and Callie.  Her heart and home were always open to people and pets.

Following the death of her son Jeff in 2020, Jane lost a piece of her heart but she continued to be a source of strength and support to those around her.

Family was important to Jane, she loved nothing better than to be surrounded by those she loved most. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends but will never be forgotten.

As per her wishes cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will be held Sunday April 21, 2024, from 1-4 p.m. at the Collingwood Leisure Time Club. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society or the Canadian Red Cross in Jane’s memory.
