1950-2023
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy on December 30th, 2023, in her 74th year.
Deeply loved by her husband, Douglas Arthur, her daughters Kelly, and Stacy, her son-in-law Michael, and granddaughter Maeve.
Wendy was a beloved sister to Patti (Steve), Doug, and Carole (Bill), brother-in-law Jim (Shelly), and caring aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Lenora Patterson, her brother David, sisters-in-law Carolyn and Anne, and her parents-in-law Arthur and Nora Rose.
Originating from Collingwood, Ontario, Wendy’s roots shaped her enduring passion for sports and outdoor adventure. She was an avid reader, found great joy in gardening, kayaking and camping in Algonquin Park, earning her the affectionate title of ‘campfire whisperer’.
Wendy’s caring and compassionate nature evolved into a career as a registered nurse. She dedicated her years of service to the Hamilton General Hospital and the Victoria Order of Nurses.
Wendy faced adversity with remarkable strength and courage. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her many caregivers with special acknowledgement to Marisol, Alanna, Cheryl, and Vicky. ‘Wendell’ you are forever in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place, and arrangements for a celebration of life are being planned.
