William passed away peacefully, doing it his way, surrounded by loving family and friends at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital on Sunday, October 1, 2023
William was loved by his children, Ashley (Greg) Wood and Christopher, proud grandfather of Hank.
William is fondly remembered by sisters, Daisie (Ken) Gregory, Jean Reid, June (late John) Beardsall. He will be missed by nieces and nephews, Terry (Dan) McIntosh, Cari (Adam) Schmeler, Kathryn and Kyle (Wanessa Wenger) Gregory, Jennifer and Jessica Reid-Burrell and great nephews Sidney and Curtis Storer and Finn Schmeler
Predeceased by parents Arthur and Florence (Smith) Reid
William is remembered by Aunt Wilma Smith, cousins and friends.
Thank you to long time family physician, Dr, Stephen Langford for his care and compassion.
The family wish to express appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, PSW’s, and staff from all departments who went above and beyond to make William’s stay at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital comfortable.
Thank you to all William’s friends and family who visited or sent messages to him during this last week to make final memories of their time together. He enjoyed all the visits and messages.

Cremation has taken place. William will be laid to rest beside his parents during a graveside service to be held at Singhampton Union Cemetery, date to be determined.
