After a brave and valiant 12 year battle with prostate cancer, Ed passed away peacefully in Collingwood, on the 3rd of March, 2023. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, friend and partner in life, Joanne. Ed was a loving and proud father of his two daughters, Lisa (Jamie) and Ashley (Jack). Cherished Papa of Ronin, Olivia, and Avery. Loved son of Alberta and Edward Quinnett. Dear Brother of Ronnie (Bruce), Norma (John), Herbie (Carol), Tommy (Christine), Robert (Anka), Stephen (Claudine) and Stewart (Angie). Ed will be dearly remembered by all his nieces and nephews and many many great friends.

Ed lived a wonderful life. Full of love, laughter, terrible jokes, amazing stories, music, and dancing. He loved to keep everyone entertained!  He was an amazing salesman; met many people and made many friends in all his years in sales. He lived life in a big and loud way…. Never doing anything small and always diving in head first.

He loved to spend time with his family, kick back and listen to music with a nice scotch, play golf, look after his yard (that he took so much pride in) and BBQ. In later years he loved to drive to the harbour front, relax with a coffee, watch the water and scratch his lotto tickets.

Ed enjoyed being with people, he loved to listen and talk and hear everyone’s stories and then tell you his. People always gravitated to him with his big personality. He was genuinely loved by everyone. He was always quick to voice his opinions and let you know how he would do things, in the most loving way. Generous to a fault, he would give you the shirt off his back or golf clubs if you needed it.

He loved his family fiercely and we are all so grateful to have had him in our lives.

These last few years he fought extra hard as his cancer spread to his bones and metastasized. He was brave and battled till the end. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s name can be made to either The Collingwood G&M Hospital Foundation or Royal Victoria Hospital Cancer Centre in Barrie. A service of remembrance will be held at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel on Sunday March 12, 2023, at 2 p.m. Friends may visit Ed’s online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com
