Nov. 13, 1932  -  December 9, 2022

We’ve lost The Mate.   He’s gone to join old friends and family, and we will all miss him dearly.

Elmer had just celebrated his 90th birthday but had several health issues to deal with. He passed away at home with Carol by his side.

Elmer was born in Bayfield, New Brunswick to (the late) John and Ethel Presley.  He was predeceased by brother Gerald Presley, and sister Laura Goodwin, and will be fondly remembered by brother Sherman Presley, Mary and family, his many nieces and nephews, as well as his dear friend and partner Carol and her family.

And so many dear friends, Glen who faithfully visited Friday afternoons as Elmer became weaker, and Miki who always kept in close touch, the golfing buddies, the Dyconia buddies and on and on. He was well liked wherever he went and met a lot of people throughout his life and travels.  He worked in Bermuda and then moved on to Australia to make a living as a master carpenter/contractor.  When he returned home, he came to Wasaga Beach and started all over by building and renovating.  He worked hard and played hard.  After working all day, he would hurry over to the pub to have a cool one or two and meet up with friends and other workers looking to quench their thirsts and solve the world’s problems daily.

Elmer did not want a funeral and was quite clear about his final wishes.  If desired donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. To sign Elmer’s Book of Memories, please visit www.carruthersdavidson.com
