Passed away on October 26, 2022 in her 84th year.

Maxine was born on May 15, 1939 in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Marjorie (nee Nash) and Gordon Hubley. 31 years of marriage were happily celebrated with John Pastirik (deceased 2012) of Welland where she lived for many years after moving from Toronto. Living in Toronto she was married to Ugo Gobbi for 6 years until his passing in 1979.

She was sister to Greg (Christine), Sister in law to Marilyn Pastirik (Mike deceased), Aunt to Neil Hubley (Allyson), Ann Leblanc (Rock), Tom Pastirik (Theresea), Great Aunt to Hunter, Cadence, Jillian (Gareth), Caitlin (Brandon), James and Steven, Great-Great Aunt to Henry and Alexander.

She had a successful career as a nurse in Toronto later graduating into teaching and leadership roles at George Brown College. After writing and teaching the Curriculum for Niagara College Adult Nursing Program she was awarded the Continuing Education Teaching Excellence Award in 1994 in recognition of “Outstanding Commitment and Dedication in Teaching Adults”.

She loved visiting family in Nova Scotia and did extensive research of the Hubley family and their arrival and settlement in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia from 1753 onwards.

She was a proud Canadian and was always happy to say that she travelled to every province and the Northwest territories.

She will be missed by family and friends who knew and loved her.

A private memorial service will be held in Welland, her final resting place.

Donations in her name can be made to a charity of choice. To sign her book of memories, please visit www.chattersonfuneralhome.com
