Dorothy Ruth Palmer (nee Rice) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Thursday February 16, 2023 at age 95 years. Dorothy was adored by her late husband Donald Palmer.

Loving mother of Donald (Elaine), George (Judy), Bonnie Sayers, Patsy Armbrust (Darrin), Brenda Mortley (Bevin) and Jim (Cheryl). Dear Grandma of Geoff, James, Jennifer, Alison, Catherine, Daniel, Jonathan, Paul (predeceased), Jason, Nathan, Dean, David, Mark, Janessa, Andrew (predeceased), Adam and Ethan. She was a great grandma and great great grandma. She will also be remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her church family. Dorothy lived all her life in the Collingwood area. Dorothy was very active in her church, teaching Sunday School, leading various committees, played the organ and directed the church nursey for many years. She co-owned “Palmer’s Flowers” along side her husband Don. She was very talented in sewing, quilting, cross stitch and crafting of all kinds. Dorothy taught herself computer skills when computers became popular.

Dorothy’s family will receive friends at the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, 4436 County Rd 124, Collingwood on Wednesday at 2p.m. Spring interment Westmount Baptist Cemetery.
