On Wednesday, July 19th, Glen (James Glen) passed peacefully with his wife, Diane (nee Warner), of 60 years, son Jim and daughter Elizabeth at his side. Glen was born on June 10th, 1941, to James and Isabell (Glen) Numbers of Hamilton, Ontario. Sadly, his parents perished in a fire in 1944 and he and his sister Sondra were raised by their paternal uncle, Alexander, and his wife Charlotte, later his second wife Ella.

Glen served in the Canadian Armed forces for 35 years, entering at age 16 into the Soldier Apprenticeship program at Base Borden, also the location of his last posting in Canada. He enjoyed postings in Germany and later the Middle East. Glen and Diane were fortunate to have several years traveling to Arizona in the winter and spending the balance of the year at the home they built in Haliburton. They later re-located to Brighton and in late 2021 to Wasaga Beach, where they first met in 1962.

Glen enjoyed a variety of hobbies over the years, including water skiing in the summer, snowmobiling in the winter, training dogs in obedience and building the family cottage. He was always willing to help others out and even spent a few years doing dog therapy work in long term care facilities with Abba (Doberman) and then Dolly (Springer Spaniel).

Following Glen’s wishes cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. As an expression of sympathy donations in Glen’s memory may be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House. Friends may visit Glen’s online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com
