Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital in her 97th year. Dale, of Stayner, beloved wife of the late Stan Nixon for 71 years, and loving mother of Nancy (Bob), Paul (Sadie), Lori (Peter) and John (Linda). Proud grandmother of Sean, Travis, Joshua, Brandon, Nicole, Brennan, Damion and Gabriella and great grandmother to seven great-grandchildren.

Dale was a kind and loving woman who cherished her family and her community.  She was an active member of the Stayner United Church Women, a member of the Church Choir for many years, The Eastern Star and a Volunteer Driver for The Red Cross, as well as supported Stan and his work within the community and the family business, Stan Nixon Motors.  She loved live theatre and along with her husband enjoyed many performances locally and in Toronto. They both loved to travel and had some wonderful adventures with many of their friends. She enjoyed curling in her younger years and while they still could they would travel to see The Briar every year. This was a sport that mom continued to watch over the years. The family cottage at Brock’s Beach provided years of indelible family memories. She was well loved and will be deeply missed.

Special thanks to Dr. Gencarelli and staff, Collingwood Hospital staff (especially Dr. Boyd, Dr. Ceasar, and the Medical Care Unit nursing staff), the Reverend Jennifer Irving and Blue Mountain Manor.

A private family ceremony will be held with interment at Stayner Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements under the direction of Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel.
