MURPHY, Jean Anne (Cruickshanks)

Passed away on April 14th at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. Jean was born on August 24th, 1941, to parents Edward (Lorne) & Violet (Pat) Cruickshanks in Halifax NS. Jean will be missed by her loving husband of 64 years Vincent Aruthur (Dink) Murphy and her adoring children Vincent Jr. (Evelyn), Pamela, Renee and David (Bee). She was predeceased by two brothers and will be fondly remembered by her siblings Cheryl and Don (Renee) Cruickshanks. Jean was the treasured grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 23, she will be missed by each of them. Jean will be remembered by her nieces and nephews as well as her many brothers and sisters in law.

Jean and Vincent married in 1960 and loved to travel, driving from the East to West Coast of Canada and into the United States. Jean was a proud and longtime employee at the Moirs Chocolate Factory in Nova Scotia, in her later years of employment she worked for Encore Sales ‘giving orders’. She loved big family gatherings, puzzles, bingo and was an incredible baker. She would frequently be told that she made the best Brown Sugar Fudge.

A visitation will be held Wednesday April 17th from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Fawcett Funeral Home in Creemore. The funeral service will take place Thursday April 18th at 11am followed by a committal ceremony at Creemore Union Cemetery.
