It is with heavy hearts that the family of George Mugford announce his passing on January 20, 2024 at the age of 86.
George was known for his quick wit, great sense of humor, kindness and unwavering generosity. George was a beloved grandfather, father and husband. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn; their three children: Leigh (Yvette), Geoff (Trish) and Pamela (Shane); five grandchildren: Isobel, Riley, Benjamin, Avery and Lila; and his sisters, Marilyn Bee and Joan Cook. He was predeceased by his father, Abram; his stepmother, Gladys; his brothers: Malcolm Mugford, Norman Mugford, and John Panting. He is lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends.
He was a well respected leader in the construction and aggregates industries with a career spanning over 60 years. George continued to be sought out by industry friends and associates for companionship and advice until his passing.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. John’s United Church in Creemore, ON, with a reception to follow immediately after the service. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating George’s life.
