Died suddenly at her home on Tuesday April 18, 2023 at the age of 74.

Janet, of Wasaga Beach, beloved wife of Ron McLeod. Loving mother of Jo-Anne McLeod (Blain Neufeld), Laura McLeod (Mark Schatzker) and Gavin (Jill) McLeod. Cherished “NannyJan” of Greta, Violet and Henry Schatzker and Amy, Bruce and Cameron McLeod. Dear sister of Tim and Tom Grisack. Janet will also be missed by her canine companion Mitzie, her extended family and many friends. Janet was a friendly and outgoing woman – she was the first one to tell you a joke, a story, or get the dance party started.

If you knew her in high school, you would know that she was a track champion and school prefect. As a friend in the seventies and eighties you probably played tennis against her or took disco dancing classes in the basement of the family home. She was an active presence in her neighbourhood, often seen walking Mitzie and chatting with those she met along the way. She had a long and fulfilling career in dental hygiene and as a pioneer of the Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit dentistry program. An alumna of the University of Toronto, she prided herself in her high financial literacy and enjoyed following the markets.

She was also a devoted member of her church, the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd. She will be deeply missed.

Friends will be received by her family at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Friday April 21, 2023 from 3 to 5 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m. The Memorial Service will be held at the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd, 219 Scott Street, Stayner on Saturday April 22, 2023 at 1 o’clock. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society or the University Health Network Foundation directed to the Krembil Brain Institute at Toronto Western Hospital would be appreciated by Janet’s family.  To sign her Book of Memories, please visit www.carruthersdavidson.com
