Marshall1

Passed away peacefully at Sunset Manor on Thursday, February 17, 2022 in her 96th year.  Delores was the loving wife of James Marshall, celebrating 73 wonderful years of marriage, having met while they both worked at CN in the late 1940s. Delores was born in Toronto to parents Mary (née Speirs) and Harold Johnston.

She was devoted to her family, friends, and community and will be missed dearly.  Loving mother of 5 children, the late Kirk (Wendy), Gary (Anita), Brad (Patti), Kim Giffen (David) and Lisa Marsbergen (Steve).  Loving Grandma of 8 grandchildren - Lindsay, Scott, Kelly (Rick), Lesley, Cynthia, Mike, Laura, and Denise. And Great Grandma to Nolan and Alvin. Predeceased by her parents and son Kirk Marshall.

Delores was an active member in her faith and enjoyed curling, golf, and bridge, having been a member of an assortment of clubs throughout the years in Toronto, Moncton, Florida (and, in the later years, both Thornbury and Collingwood).  Delores and Jim loved to travel and spent decades of winters in Redington Beach, Florida.

The family is grateful to all the staff at Sunset Manor, where she received excellent care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Chatterson Funeral Home, Collingwood.  An open to the community Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 63 Elgin Street, Collingwood on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.   Spring Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Collingwood.
