Died suddenly on Thursday December 2, 2021 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood at the age of 87. Don of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Shirley (nee Wake) for over 63 years. Loving father of the late Douglas (2008). Dear brother of Frances Hughes, Wilbur and the late Benjamin. Cherished brother-in-law of Louann (Warren Davis), John Wake, the late David Wake and the late Ralph Wake. Don will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Don was a hardworking and very social man. He loved a good conversation and a joke or two. He had a long career as a commercial electrician, working at the Exhibition grounds and for Linton Systems.
Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Sunday December 5, 2021 from 1 to 3 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel Monday December 6, 2021 at 11 o’clock. Interment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens, 1810 Albion Road, Toronto at 2 o’clock. If desired, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be appreciated by Shirley.
