Born October 20, 1936, in Windsor, Ontario, Helen Demian MacEachern passed on October 17, 2022, at Campbell House just shy of her 86th birthday.

She is survived by her two sons; Brian MacEachern of Asheville, NC and his wife, Laurie Corral, and Craig MacEachern of Musselman’s Lake and his wife, Ashely Bronte. Throughout the years, Helen supported and encouraged her children’s interests and pursuits.

Helen grew up in Windsor, Ontario. She studied piano from a young age with the Ursuline nuns at Glengarda Convent and School. She received a silver metal and a grade 8 piano certificate, equivalent of A-level piano, from Western University in London, Ontario. She performed numerous concerts as a young woman and later volunteered her talents at retirements homes in the area including Sunset Manor and Bayhaven and the Kiwanis Club in Collingwood.

Helen sailed the Great Lakes and North Channel with Clifford Howard, a world-class yachtsman, her husband of over 20 years. They were members of The Royal Canadian Yacht Club in Toronto and retired to Collingwood in 2000. Helen worked at Bramalea Limited, Corporate Division in Toronto and was a member of Probus Club in Collingwood.

She liked to garden and feed the birds. She enjoyed cooking and baking and hosting gatherings with family and friends. She befriended and fed the stray cats in her neighborhood. We give thanks for her life and her love and are grateful for all the cookies she baked us.

If moved to make a donation in her honor, the family asks that you donate to the Hospice Georgian Triangle, Campbell House, Collingwood, Ontario.
