John Lockton passed away peacefully in his 72nd year on February 17, 2023. Beloved husband of Vivian (Felts) for 46 years; his final words to her were "You're still the one." Mischievous brother of Mary Jean Cousins, loving father of Vance (Wendy), Patricia and Jason (Karla), and proud grandfather of James, all of whom will cherish his memory. Predeceased by his parents Mary Florence (Kennett) and Walter Bruce Lockton.

John spent his entire career working with Ontario Hydro/Hydro One. Second only to his love for his wife was his love for his children. With dedication and pride he coached all three of them in baseball and hockey, eventually coaching alongside them as well. He also showed them the value inherent in supporting roles, spending hours on (intentionally) unsung tasks like field maintenance.

He loved to work with his hands, be it remodeling an old hunt camp into a family cabin or working on the intricate detailing of a woodcarving or painting. He also cherished time spent outdoors - hiking, camping, kayaking, or playing a game of pickup football or hockey on the street or park nearby. Time with his dogs was always special, sitting in the backyard or going for walks. His strength - developed through a lifetime of weight training, a Diet Coke close at hand - earned him the nickname 'Diesel.' He was a mentor and inspiration to many over the years, an advocate, a source of guidance and to many a genuine friend, and he will be deeply missed.

A private family memorial has already taken place. If desired, memorial donations can be provided to the Odette Cancer Centre or the Toronto Humane Society.
