Passed away peacefully, with her son Jeffrey by her side on Friday October 27, 2023 at the Brantford General Hospital.
Loving and devoted wife of the late Dennis Wilson Paterson and the late James Laws. Cherished and adoring mother of Jeffrey Paterson, stepmother of Rick (Jennifer) Laws and Derek (Joanne) Laws. Dear sister of Edith McNabb (the late Jim), the late Jean Bremner (the late Rodger), the late Ernie Gummer (Mary), Betty Micks and brother-in law Bill Paterson (the late Vivian). She will be missed by her nieces and nephews Heather, Kevin, Kim, Cynthia, Ian, Julie, Cathy, Tim, Brian, Stuart, Bobby, Kelly, Jimmy, Sharon, Linda and Rosie. Dear neighbour and family friend of Tracy (the late Ian), Cameron (Hailey), Stephan, Jason, Jillian and Cate McShane.
Rose was a lady of many talents, and she brought great joy to everything she did. She worked on the apple orchards during harvest, made skating dresses at home and goalie pads at John Brown’s. Rose was a member of Nottawa United Church, she taught Sunday School for many years. She worked at the Nottawa General Store, Peerless and Best Western in Collingwood. Family was very important to Rose and was a lifelong resident of Nottawa and later Stayner.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 10a.m. to 10:30a.m. at the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood, where a graveside service will follow at First Presbyterian Cemetery on Friday at 11a.m. Remembrances may be made to the War Amps in her memory.
