It is with deep sadness that family announces the peaceful passing of William “Bill” King in the early morning of September 4, 2023.
Survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marie King (née Osmond). Loving father of Bill Jr. King (wife Anne), Lois King (husband Robin), Lynn King, and the late Danny King (2016). Cherished “Poppa” of Cathleen, Laura, Julie, Nick, Sammy, Evan and Alexandra. Bill will also be missed by his many friends and extended family both in Wasaga Beach and in Newfoundland.
After raising their family in St. John's Newfoundland, Bill and Marie lived many happy retirement years in Wasaga Beach, with the last several years at Waterside Retirement Lodge with wonderful support from the caring staff and the many friends made there. Bill and Marie were founding members of, and were very active in, the Wasaga Beach United Church. On behalf of Bill and Marie, the family would like to thank the congregation and ministers (past and present) for their spiritual support and friendship over the years.
Friends are invited to join the family at the Wasaga Beach United Church - 380 Zoo Park Road, Wasaga Beach on Thursday, September 14, 2023 for a visitation that will be held at 11am and the memorial service at 12pm (noon). A reception will follow the service in the church hall. A private family interment will be held at the Wasaga Beach Cemetery.
