Jim passed away peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Campbell House in Collingwood at the age of 87. Jim will be forever loved and missed by his beloved wife Ann (Butler), children James and Lynn and his grandson Dylan (Leanne). He is survived by his sister Elizabeth (late husband Joe) and predeceased by his brothers George (Pauline), Marko (Catherine) and Edward (Margurite). He will be remembered fondly by all his nieces and nephews in Kitchener and Ottawa, as well as his dear friends.
Jim dedicated his life to trees and worked as a forester for the former Ministry of Natural Resources in various locations including Maple, Chapleau, Cochrane and Timmins. Upon retirement, he lovingly started Jim's UPick Tree farm, where people enjoyed a one of a kind Christmas experience in a horse drawn sleigh to select their tree.
A visitation will take place at the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood, Ontario on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 7 – 9 p.m. The family will gather at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery at 1 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2022 for final prayers, to lay him to rest under a beloved maple tree. www.chattersonfuneralhome.com
