Passed away after a brief illness surrounded by the love of his family at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at age 93. Emmanuel was beloved husband of 54 years of Hilary (nee Gittens) Joseph. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Denyse Joseph, Margaret Clements, Avril Clements, Desiree Joseph, Nicole Joseph and Susan Dhillon. He will be missed by his 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Emmanuel left his home country in Trinidad and brought his wife and young family to Canada in the late 1970’s.
He will be remembered as a strong and courageous man who lived a fulfilling life. Emmanuel was truly devoted to his family and provided to their needs. He was a great storyteller and had a contagious laugh, living life to the fullest with no complaints. He tried the sport of Boxing and enjoyed watching wrestling on television. He liked cars and going on road trips. Dad had many talents, and would drum using steel pans. He will be deeply missed. Friends are invited to the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood on Tuesday January 18, 2022 from 4p.m. – 6p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 63 Elgin Street, Collingwood on Wednesday January 19, 2022 at 11a.m. Spring Interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Collingwood.
