Born in Newcastle on Tyne England on February 19th, 1951, Ann was the youngest of nine children born to Henry and Edith (nee Renwick) Robson.

Ann was raised at Winlaton, Blaydon-on Tyne co. Durham England. She left school in 1966 and started an apprenticeship as a hairdresser and attended college.

Ann met John Jolly in 1967 and they were married on June 26, 1971. In 1974 John and Ann became the proud parents of Alison; and on March 27th, 1976 they emigrated to Canada and moved directly to Thornbury where John had a job.   In the spring of 1978 Ann opened up her hairdressing shop in the basement of their home on Orchard Drive. She carried on her business for 40 years and had many customers who became special friends.  Ann was very active in the community through the Beaver Valley Athletic Association ‘B.V.A.A.’ and the Kinettes.  She touched many lives in the Thornbury area and could always be counted on to lend a hand whenever needed.  Ann was an extraordinary kind person with the ability to be strong minded and practical. Family meant the world to Ann, she adored her grandchildren; Meghann, Erin, Andrew and Matthew, her son-in-law Mark Elligson, her daughter Alison, and John, the love of her life.
