Passed away peacefully at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood on Thursday December 21, 2023.
Robert of Stayner, predeceased by his loving wife Mary of almost 60 years. Loving father of Angela (Jerry Catalfo), Sherry (Blair Holland, Jr) and Vanda Jones (David Thompson). Cherished grandfather of Devon (Jennifer), Dakota (Maryssa), Taylor (Nicole), Nathan (Taylor), Joanna and Lori-Ann (Adam) and great grandfather of Max, Conn, Colt, Rhys, Tracey, Jack, Hayley, Benjamin, Mia, Giovanna, and Isabella. Robert was a hard working, proud, quiet man with an amazing sense of humour and quick wit. He cherished his time spent with family and his many friends, both old and new.
Robert and Mary loved to travel and especially enjoyed their many trips to Las Vegas. Although an electrician by trade, Robert was a "Jack of all Trades" and loved tinkering in his workshop which was affectionately known as "Hunter's Hardware" to his family...always open 24/7! A long time classic car enthusiast and restorer, he loved touring around and attending local car shows in his latest "Ole Gal" a 1966 Mustang. As a Life Member of the Stayner Lions Club, Robert took pleasure in serving his community and enjoyed many conventions and social gatherings with the group over the years. Robert and Mary are reunited, on the dance floor, arm in arm, together once again.
Private family arrangements. Interment will take place at the Stayner Union Cemetery in the spring. A huge thank you to Dr Gandhi and the care team at CGMH for your kindness and compassion, as well as the Cancer Care Centre team at RVH and his primary home care PSW Barb for their ongoing care and support.
