Died peacefully on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at his home at the age of 86. Jim of Wasaga Beach, formerly of Brampton, beloved husband of over 63 years to Hendrika. Loving father of Kellie (Jeff Whiteside) and Scott (Janet Petrocco). Grandfather of Gale and Ian. Dear brother of Arthur, Rosie, Leonard and the late Betty.
Jim had a long career with the City of Brampton, retiring as supervisor within the water and wastewater department. Upon retirement, Jim and Hendrika enjoyed winters in Florida and spent their summers in Wasaga Beach where they made many wonderful friends. He was a man of great faith and was a valued member of the Heritage Baptist congregation. Jim led Bible study and was deeply involved until the onset of his illness.
Friends will be received at the Heritage Baptist Church, 79 Ardagh Road, Barrie from 12 noon Saturday April 20, 2024 for the Funeral Service at 1 o’clock. The ceremony will be available via Live Stream on the Heritage Baptist Church YouTube and Facebook pages. Reception to follow in the church hall. The interment will take place at a later date at the Wasaga Beach Cemetery.
