HEATHERLY, Lorne John Arnold

Died peacefully on Tuesday August 8, 2023 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood at the age of 82.  Lorne of Wasaga Beach, formerly of North Bay and of London, beloved husband for almost 62 years of Marilyn.  Loving father of Lorne Jr and of the late Cindy. Cherished grandfather of Jenny, Carrie, Justin (Myrna) and Dakota.  Lorne will also be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews, his extended family , friends and neighbours.  Lorne was a kind and outgoing man who was a perfectionist by nature. He was most helpful to his friends and neighbours as he could fix anything.  He had a distinguished career as an Aircraft Mechanical Engineer with the Canadian Armed Forces as well as an instructor at Canadore College in North Bay.  He enjoyed model aircraft and helicopters, playing his guitar and collecting and trading hockey cards.  He will be deeply missed.  A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  If desired, a donation to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House or to the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation would be appreciated by Lorne’s family.
