It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Winnie Heather of Wasaga Beach.  She passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood at the age of 83.

Survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Geoff Heather; her children, Watson (Peggy), Liz (Dave), Tara (Chris), and Scott (Marni).  8 grandchildren: Ryan (Tange), Angela (Loraine), Billy (Kay), Madison, Emily, David, Jack and Ella and 4 great grandchildren, Roarin, Rainin, Kensi and Kylo. Brothers Sam (Nfld) and Roy (Pauline- Peterborough), and many adoring nieces and nephews here and in Newfoundland. Predeceased by siblings Eric, George, Prissie and Bill (Nfld).

Born in Little Hearts Ease, Newfoundland, July 11, 1940 and a sister of 6 siblings, she moved to Ontario in 1964. Winnie worked at Kodak in Brampton for several years then moved to Bolton in 1980 and eventually to Wasaga Beach in 1999. She loved her bowling and teaching the kids, watching the Blue Jays, curling, casino and the Bingo Hall. Winnie was like a cat with many lives going through a lot of medical issues over the years and finally cancer. We will all miss her love and feistiness.

We would like to thank all our family and friends that came to help us these past weeks as well as the many doctors over the years and the wonderful staff at Campbell House for their care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place.  Friends are invited to join the family at Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach, on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a celebration of life, with words of remembrance being shared at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Winnie’s memory can be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle for Campbell House and would be appreciated by the family.
