Died peacefully at home with family by his side on Sunday, December 24, 2023 just shy of his 95th birthday. Charlie, of Collingwood, was the beloved husband and best friend of Audrey (nee McLaughlin) for over 71 years. Loving father of Paul (Judy) and Joanne (Adam). Cherished grandfather of Nicole (Jim), Tina (Chris) and Scott. Treasured great-grandfather of Brooke, Connor, Brayden and Jacob. Dear brother of Gladys, Ruth and Glenn. Charlie was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Eileen, his sister Doris and his brother Ron. Lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Charlie was “Mr. Fix-It”, a mechanic by trade, who never once had a car accident in all his years of driving. He loved to be outdoors, hunting and fishing; he also enjoyed fiddle music and square-dancing. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind, outgoing man who lived life to the fullest.

Friends are invited to join the family at the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood for visitation on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11 o’clock with a reception to follow. Interment at First Presbyterian Cemetery at a later date.

In memory of Charlie, donations to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation, the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House, or a charity important to you would be appreciated by the family.
