Harris Main

August 6, 1932 – January 30, 2022

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of our dear husband ”My Jackie” , father, father-in-law and grandfather (Poppy) , brother and brother-in-law, uncle and dear friend Jack Harris.  Jack passed away peacefully with his loving family at home on Sunday, January 30, 2022 in his 90th year.

Jack was born in Toronto and grew up in the Beaches area with his large and loving family. He worked for many years importing “Specialty Foods” from around the world. Our pantry was always filled with delicacies dad incorporated into the foods he lovingly cooked for their famous dinner parties. Always the entertainer!

Dear husband of Marilou (nee McComb) Harris of 54 years.  Loving father of Tracy “Fawn” (Steven) Reader.  He was a loving and caring grandfather of Brooke, Barrett and Remington Reader.  He will be missed by his sister Doreen Ross, nieces, nephews and many friends.  Predeceased by his parents Rose (nee Sandford) and Frank Harris and his siblings Claude Harris, Chris Riehl, Frank Harris, Mel Harris, Cam Harris and Kay Hopkins.

Jack is a brilliant and captivating story teller. We were all blessed to hear his larger than life stories that would entertain and make us laugh for hours. Most people had trouble believing they were true. It warms my heart to know that his grandchildren will be talking about them for years. Always a great sense of humour and had a gift for making people feel special wherever he went.  He loved to put a smile on everyone’s face. You could always find him working on his boats on the water. He was an avid poetry reader and a talented artist.

Above all, and so proud to say, that my dad was best known for his fierce love and devotion to his family.  XO MTSBBRB
Jack, Marilou and family would like to thank Dr. Karin Euler (Dr. Goddess) and all the dedicated  nurses (angels really) who lovingly took care of my dad.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Affordable Cremation Services, Collingwood.  A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at a later date.  If desired, a donation in his memory may be made to Heart & Stroke.
