It is with heaviest of hearts to announce after brief battle with cancer the sudden passing of Jean Louise Gibbins who crossed over peacefully with family and friends by her side on July 17, 2023.

Jean touched the hearts of everyone - as a Wife, Mother, Grandma, Sister and Friend. She leaves behind many who grieve our loss and will forever cherish her memories. Jean is loved deeply by her husband Michael Fedwick and her children, Tracy (Kendall) and Terry (Eric).  She is treasured by her granddaughters Zoe and Ava and they will forever cherish their memories of trips to the barn with Grandma. Jean will be remembered with fondness by her stepmother Nancie Gibbins, brothers Kenneth (Debbie) and John (Irene), sister Linda, daughter-in-law Jen and her nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her father William Gibbins (2000) and mother Doris Cox (1981).

Jean had a way to make everyone feel welcome. People were drawn to her and she was loved by all. She had a smile that would light up a room and beautiful green eyes were always full of life. Her connection to animals was unmistakable, from horses to dogs, cats and not to forget her favourite chickens.  She loved animals of all sizes and had a special bond with her horses Paris and JJ. Jean leaves behind many who grieve the loss and who will forever cherish her memories.   Until we meet again, rest peacefully our sweet Angel.

Family and friends will be received for visitation at Fawcett Funeral Home, 82 Pine St. Collingwood on Thursday July 20, 2023, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m on Friday July 21, 2023 at New Life Church, 28 Tracey Lane in Collingwood. A reception will follow the service. Jean will then be laid to rest at Lavender Cemetery immediately following the service and reception. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Sick Kids, or Collingwood Hospital in Jean’s memory.  Friends may visit Jean’s online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com
