Fraser, Alan Richard
Died peacefully on Wednesday January 24, 2024 at Brightshores Health System, Owen Sound at the age of 90. Al, formerly of Wasaga Beach, is predeceased by his wife Joan (2019). Loving father of Wendy Fraser (Mike McWilliam) and Janice (Murray Arnold). Cherished grandfather of Jamie (Oana) and Kailey (Corey) and great grandfather of Alina and Ryann. Dear brother of Ian (Mim). He was born in Truro, Nova Scotia and moved to Mississauga, Ontario in 1965 from New Brunswick. He took the position of National Service Manager of Trane Canada in the HVAC industry and retired from this in 1996. Al was a proud man with immense strength and determination to get better, even when his health and mobility declined. He was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and enjoyed different types of news from near and far. He was an accomplished curler who enjoyed the sport since his teenage years. Any books or stories about Nova Scotia always piqued his interest. Making friends came easily to Al and his thoughtfulness and commitment to his community and the United Church were forefront in his life. He will be missed by many. Thank you to all at Southbridge Care Home in Owen Sound for the care he received during his stay there. A celebration will be scheduled in the spring with interment at Stayner Union Cemetery.
